Jasu Sans

About the Project

With the help of Source Sans Pro by Paul D. Hunt, I designed the Hiragana alphabet under the same parameters. Careful precision was taken to be sure the stroke weights and shapes of the Latin and Hiragana alphabets complimented each other.

This type specimen introduces viewers to Jasu Sans' features (so far). Hiragana alone cannot be used to compose large bodies of text, however it can be used for words, phrases and small sentences. As it is only 1 of the 3 scripts used in the Japanese language, this typeface still has a ways to go before it can be used in full for bilingual works with Source Sans.
